After three successful editions held at the golf course in Mariánské Lázně – a venue proudly bearing the prestigious Royal Golf Club title as the first course outside the Commonwealth to be granted this honor by the British royal family – we are bringing this unique experience to the capital city of Prague.
Combining two royal sports deeply rooted in European culture, we are now presenting the 4th edition, which will take place at Prague City Golf in Zbraslav. Prepare for an unforgettable experience full of exceptional atmosphere, elegance, tradition, and a unique connection with the world of horses.
Polo has been actively played in the Czech Republic for more than 20 years at several locations, including Prague, Brno, Zlín, Beroun, and Kadaň. More information about this sport can be found on the Czech Polo website. Our tournament is also unique due to its combination of two elegant sports – golf and polo. The entire event was created under the patronage of the golf course in Mariánské Lázně, which has held the prestigious “Royal Golf Course” title since 2004.
The tournament will take place on the driving range of the Prague City Golf Zbraslav complex, which will be specially adapted for this occasion to ensure maximum visibility even for spectators encountering horse polo for the first time. Come and enjoy a unique day where elite horses and players from several countries – Germany, Great Britain, Argentina, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia – will gather in Zbraslav.
The history of this sport in our country was mainly shaped by the noble families of Auersperg and Kinsky, who had summer estates in Heřmanův Městec and Slatiňany, two municipalities near Pardubice. Karel Kinský VIII, Prince of Vchynice and Tetov, played polo as early as 1899 in Petrograd. Vincenc and Ferdinand Auersperg had a polo field built in the castle gardens in Slatiňany, which has been preserved to this day. The field served as a training ground for horse breeding for polo, as the main European center for polo at the time was Vienna. The most successful Czechoslovak polo player of the First Republic was Oldřich Ferdinand Kinský, 10th Prince of Vchynice and Tetov. In 1936, he served as a horse polo referee at the Olympic Games in Berlin. His famous saddle and polo artifacts in Heřmanův Městec are now administered by the National Stud Farm in Kladruby nad Labem.

This year’s tournament will be played in a Pro-Am format, where each flight consists of one professional player provided by the organizer together with three amateur players.
The game is played in the Texas Scramble format, which brings a fast pace, team cooperation, and an attractive playing experience ideal both for competition and networking.
